Online PPI training for researchers

Our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) team run regular online training sessions for researchers who are new to PPI or who want to build their skills.

Sessions are free for students and staff from the NIHR, NHS, UK universities, public sector institutions and registered charities based in the UK. Researchers from commercial organisations are welcome to attend for a nominal fee.

When registering, please make sure you use a work-associated email address e.g. .nhs.uk, .ac.uk etc.

Inclusivity training for affiliated research staff

Six NIHR Biomedical Research Centres: Barts, Birmingham, Cambridge, Moorfields, Oxford and Oxford Health in collaboration bring to you a series of engaging online
training sessions with experts and researchers to help embed inclusion in your research.

  • Ethnicity Inclusion training with Prof. Shaun Treweek
  • Socio-economic Disadvantage Inclusion training with Dr Heidi R Green

These sessions are for affiliated research staff ONLY, the training is free but has been funded by the BRC’s listed above (NIHR Cambridge BRC, includes East Anglia research staff).

Please complete the Expression of Interest form to receive the registration link for  sessions from Jan to March 2026 or indicate if interested in hearing about sessions from May to June 2026 dates in the additional comments box, once available.

All-day PPI training

This in-person Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) training session is for East Anglia (EA) research staff ONLY and held in Cambridge.

Our next session will be on Wednesday 2 September 2026 from 9.30am to 4.00pm @ the West Hub, Cambridge.

Although free, please note a non-attendance fee of £100 will apply as places are limited.
