Our Regional Patient and Public Involvement Week starts on Monday 9th June 2025, with something going on every day until the following Saturday 14th June!

Monday 9th June: Getting Involved in Cambridge – Come and meet our public involvement teams!
Discover ways to help shape health research! Groups in the East of England are looking for more volunteers to join their Patient and Public Involvement and community panels. Come along to find out more about involvement opportunities and how your experience can help our researchers improve their research. If you’re a researcher, find out how PPI panels can help your research. For members of the public, NHS staff and researchers.

Tuesday 10th June: Let’s Shape Research Together – ARU’s annual conference
Join us for networking and collaboration opportunities with ARU academics, ARU Public Collaborators and external stakeholders.
You can learn more about research at ARU, and how public contributors have made a difference to recent research projects.

Wednesday 11th June: Health Research in Cambridge and how you can help shape it!

Patients and members of the public have an important role to play in the health research that we do. This session will look at how you can get involved and help to make our research even better.
This session is for members of the public. You don’t need any medical knowledge or experience. All are welcome!

Thursday 12th June: Cambridge Patient and Public Involvement Showcase
Join us for live presentations from researchers from 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00 about how public involvement has made a difference to their research. Over a light lunch (12:00-13:00) browse posters of further examples of public involvement. Then from 15:30-16:30 there will be a ‘PPI in Discovery and Pre-Clinical Health Research’ panel discussion to highlight PPI in lab-based research.
Events are for the public and research staff to showcase and celebrate the difference public involvement has and is making today in Cambridge health research.

Friday 13th June: Showcase of initiatives through online campaigns
Follow the hashtag #EoE-PPIWeek on Social Media and find out about PPI best practice case studies from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre and others.
Saturday 14th June: Cambridge Pride – parade, stand & talk
We’ll be highlighting the importance of inclusive research on our stand in the Community Hive and doing a short talk about why we need to encourage more diversity in taking part and getting involved in improving health research.
