CUH PPI Panel member event

Regional PPI Week is back – with more events than ever!

Make a date in your diaries for this year’s Regional Patient and Public Involvement Week – a celebration of PPI in research and how patients and the public continue to shape health research for the better.

The week kicks off on Monday 9th June at the Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with the chance to meet a range of teams working in PPI across Cambridge – including Cancer Research UK, Anglia Ruskin, the University of Cambridge Clinical School and of course our very own PPI team at the NIHR Cambridge BRC!

There’s no need to book, simply drop in between 11am and 2pm at the Atrium, Royal Papworth and find out how you can help researchers with their PPI.

And that’s just the start – with in-person and online events taking place every day until Cambridge Pride at Jesus Green on Saturday 14th June, where we will be at the Community Hive.

Anglia Ruskin University is also running an afternoon conference on Tuesday 10th June where you can meet ARU academics and public collaborators while finding out more about research at ARU, and how public contributors have made a difference to recent research projects.

So in a nutshell, look at what’s going on:

  • Monday – Drop-in and meet PPI teams working on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and discover the opportunities open to you. Suitable for everyone.
  • Tuesday – Annual conference from Anglia Ruskin University – Let’s Shape Research Together. Suitable for everyone.
  • Wednesday – Learn while you lunch: an online seminar looking at Health Research in Cambridge and how you can help shape it! For patients, carers and members of the public.
  • Thursday – Cambridge Patient and Public Involvement Showcase: a day of talks, posters, lunch, presentations, networking, and more refreshments! For everyone – members of the public, academics, researchers and clinicians.
  • Friday – This day is all about social media – join in the conversation on X, BlueSky, FaceBook and LinkedIn. Follow the hashtag #EoE-PPIWeek on social media and amplify the patient’s voice in research!
  • Saturday – NIHR Cambridge BRC and NIHR Cambridge CRF at Jesus Green as part of this year’s Cambridge Pride – with special talk on the importance of diversity and inclusion in research from our own EDI Manager, Sian Cowell.
